A Little About Me
Hi, I’m Sadie—the creator of Inspired Earth Trekker. Welcome to my cozy corner of the internet!
I was born and raised on the west coast of Canada, and after travelling a lot, I still believe I’m surrounded by some of the most beautiful mountains and coastlines in the world.
My dad started me hiking and camping at a very young age, and I’ve always loved it. So thank you, Dad, for the wilderness genes! I’ve always had a pull to adventure, and it’s just been a part of my lifestyle. Years ago, I came across a book called “See the World, Sell the Story” by L. Peat O’Neil, which really sparked something in me. It made me believe that travel didn’t have to just be something I loved and saved up all my pennies for, but perhaps there was a way to make money from it while doing what I love.
I later went to school for Travel & Tourism, which led me to working for an airline for 12 and a half wonderful years. That job allowed me to see more places than I ever thought possible in my 20’s. Even though I loved that job, I started craving a calmer pace of life. So a few years ago, I made the tough decision to let go of a job I loved and embrace a slower island lifestyle. I feel very lucky to call Vancouver Island home. <3
My Why
I’ve had the idea to start this blog for over a decade… and I’m determined to make it happen this time. So now, I’m finally doing it!
I created this space to share my stories, along with some tips and lessons I’ve learned along the way (sometimes the hard way…), and to share what I wish I had known before embarking on some of my own adventures. I value meaningful travel, outdoor adventures, creativity, community, meeting new people around the world, and celebrating festivals and events. I love chasing goals that expand you physically, mentally,
and spiritually, while having fun along the way. I hope this space inspires you, in some way, to step out of your comfort zone, embrace new experiences, take chances, and follow your curiosity.
I really believe that the places we go and the people we meet along the way can change you in ways you didn’t expect and for the better. Sometimes, the smallest decision to try something new or go somewhere unfamiliar can lead to something better than you ever imagined.

“Be brave. Take risks. Nothing can substitute experience.”
